2010-2011

You can talk about jobs, you can ignore this blog, we can discuss the alarming rates of denial of tenure for scholars of color (especially women) in the discipline. Whatever, just keep it clean and try to be positive. Enjoy or leave it to rot. Your choice. Folks who have said "why does this blog exist"? Cyberspace is cheap! In fact it is F-ing free. If you want to use it please do- if you don't leave it be. It would be useful if someone gathered together or called out REP jobs. I'm honestly tired of it.

2010 ?

2010 has proven very slow. Few jobs little movement:

Hero to Berkeley

Rutgers makes offer (to whom?)

Enos to Harvard

U Chicago interviewing Davila

John Jay?

Lehman College?

Lopez to Ohio U

Stanford and Princeton Pass on REP scholars

Lots of log jam for post-docs

Tenure for Parker(UW) and McDaniel (UT)

So do we want to discuss the substance of REP since jobs are so down? Can we have a civil discussion about the work in REP the weakness of the market and how it effects scholars? Will REP scholars be "last ones hired first ones fired?"
